PRESERVING LOCAL HISTORY
Robert B. Fisher, M.D., founded Mission Peak Heritage Foundation in Fremont, California in 1962. He wanted to preserve historical sites, pioneer family histories and local antiquities. The Foundation’s purpose is to preserve those historic resources which represent the heritage of Alameda County’s Washington Township. The township formally included the towns of Warm Springs, Mission San Jose, Irvington, Centerville, Niles, Newark, Decoto and Alvarado. Mission Peak Heritage Foundation is a non-profit corporation endorsed by the council action of Fremont, Newark and Union City.
